Elon Musk has revealed that the Tesla Model 3 will be available with air suspension in about six months.

Responding to a question on Twitter, Musk said that air suspension will be included in the upcoming Model 3 dual-motor variant, backing up his claims from last year about the new suspension setup.

Motor Authority reports that the dual-motor Model 3 is listed on Tesla’s configuration tool and that it’ll arrive in the spring of 2018. Based on Musk’s previous statement about a dual-motor performance version being on the cards, it seems apparent that the Model 3 will follow in the footsteps of the Model S by offering both performance and non-performance focused all-wheel drive (dual motor) versions.

Dubbed Smart Air Suspension, the system can learn and adapt to roadways and automatically lower and raise the vehicle’s ride height when necessary. The feature, currently standard on the Model S and Model X, is particularly useful for owners who have steep or unlevel driveways.

It remains to be seen how much the dual-motor Model 3 variants will cost but don’t be surprised to see figures approaching $70,000.
